Aigle-Sépey-Diablerets, 100 years of conquest of the mountains
Discover the eventful history of this little mountain train which celebrated its centenary in July 2014
July 2014 - April 2016
With its new exhibition, the Musée des Ormonts invites you to discover the eventful history of this little mountain train which celebrated its centenary on July 2014.
Its construction in a valley with steep slopes was a particularly dangerous project. The drilling of numerous tunnels, the construction of viaducts and even a road-rail bridge occupied up to 800 workers. Regularly endangered by the threat of replacement by road transport, the ASD offers great attraction for tourists and represents an essential means of transport, connecting plain and mountain. Images, films, models and railway scenes will take the visitor on a journey through the Ormonts as a passenger and even a driver. Over 3 floors, the exhibition has been designed to satisfy the curious as well as small train enthusiasts and will be accessible to both adults and children.
